The common agama is a beautiful lizard that changes colour with it's mood and temperature. Males during the mating season will turn a bright orange - red colour when displaying. They are a very shy and nervous lizard and should be given plenty of shelter to hide, these lizards are not for the beginner and do not make good pets because of their nervous deposition, but they make a wonderful vivarium species if given a lot of space and they are left alone. Common agama are highly territorial and males should be kept apart or bullying will occur.
