The Desert Dragon is a very active lizard and needs plenty of space. They are grey to almost black in colour with light yellow to orange spots. Mature Males posses two rows of pre-anal pores, a median line of enlarged scales on the abdomen and slightly larger heads than the females. They thrive well in captivity and have been successfully breed. If handled well from hatchlings Desert Dragons will soon accept being handled and will become quite tame.
