There are over 50 species and sub species of Day Gecko most of these are exceedingly rare and only the Giant Day Gecko, Peacock Day Gecko and the Lined Day Gecko can be exported legally and the standing's Day Gecko are in captive-breeding programmes. They require specialist feeding and they are not for the beginner, they rarely become tame enough to handle but most should accept food from forceps, but they are a beautiful vivarium species. Temperature: 26 - 28°C (78 - 82°F) at cool end, 30°C (86°F) at hot spot
Winter Cooling: 25°C (77°F) during day, 15°C (60°F) at night for 8 weeks Photoperiod: 10hrs Light: Full spectrum (UVB) light and basking lamp. Photoperiod: 14 hours Humidity: 50-85% depending on species - Giant day geckos prefer lower humidity Feeding Insects dusted with supplements, sweet fruits and nectar. A hardened mixture of clear honey, soft brown sugar, calcium powder and a small amount of vitamins. A water bowl should be provided.
